This limited-edition single malt marks Ardbeg Day 2023, crafted by Dr Bill Lumsden, who removed the copper purifier to release heavy vapours. The nose offers rich peat smoke, citrus peel and menthol. The palate opens with smoky chocolate and gravel, before developing into lime, liquorice and brown sugar. Pine needles and roasted coffee emerge with time.
