Yellow Spot is a 12-year-old single pot still Irish whiskey produced at Midleton Distillery in County Cork for Mitchell & Son, the Dublin wine and spirits merchant behind the historic Spot family. Restored from Mitchell & Son's old bonding records, it sits between Green Spot and the older Red Spot as a richer, more complex expression of the style.
Crafted from malted and unmalted barley and triple distilled in copper pot stills, Yellow Spot is matured in a combination of bourbon barrels, sherry butts and Malaga wine casks. That Malaga influence provides the whiskey an additional dimension of honeyed fruit and gentle sweetness, sitting alongside the spice, texture and orchard-fruit brightness characteristic of traditional Irish pot still whiskey.
Bottled at 46%, Yellow Spot is generous without feeling heavy: rounded, silky and quietly complex, with notes of apricot, peach, vanilla, toasted oak, baking spice and dried fruit. It stands as one of the most distinctive whiskeys in the Spot range, combining Dublin merchant heritage with the depth and refinement of modern Midleton production.
