Jameson Whiskey

Jameson is one of the defining names in Irish whiskey, founded by John Jameson at Bow Street in Dublin in 1780 and still instantly recognisable worldwide. While Bow Street remains the historic heart of the brand, production moved long ago to Midleton Distillery in County Cork, where Jameson is produced alongside several of Ireland's other leading whiskeys. Its lasting appeal lies in a style that is consistently smooth, approachable and versatile, while retaining its distinctly Irish character.

That character derives from a blend of pot still and grain whiskeys, all triple distilled and matured in oak. The outcome is a whiskey with gentle spice, vanilla, toasted wood and orchard fruit, anchored by the familiar Jameson Original but extending into a broader contemporary range that includes expressions such as Black Barrel, Crested and 18 Years. Jameson remains one of the most accessible entry points into Irish whiskey, but its success stems from more than accessibility alone: it is a brand with genuine historical significance, a well-defined house style and a central role in the revival and global expansion of Irish whiskey.
