Jameson Whiskey Distillery was founded in Dublin in 1780 and is today one of the world’s most famous whiskey brands. Initially named Bow Street Distillery, it became known for its innovative distilling techniques. John Jameson and his employees pioneered triple distillation, a process which produced a smoother, mellower spirit.
The distillery thrived in 19th century and became one of the largest whiskey producers in Ireland. All this against the backdrop Prohibition in the USA and the Irish War of Independence. Today, Jameson remains a popular choice for whiskey fans around the world, producing distinctive, smooth pot still and grain whiskeys. Every whiskey drinker should have a bottle in their cabinet!
