Royal Salute Whisky

Royal Salute is a luxury blended Scotch whisky created by Chivas Brothers in 1953 to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Its name refers to the ceremonial 21-gun salute, a detail reflected in the brand's defining principle: every whisky in the core collection begins at a minimum age of 21 years.

Now part of Pernod Ricard through Chivas Brothers, Royal Salute is closely associated with Strathisla Distillery in Speyside, one of Scotland's oldest working distilleries and an important source of malt whisky for the blends. The range is built around mature Scotch, from the 21 Year Old Signature Blend to older and more specialised releases, including expressions focused on malt, grain and rare cask selection.

The house style is rich, polished and layered, with flavours often moving through honeyed fruit, orange peel, vanilla, soft spice, toasted nuts and elegant oak. Older bottlings bring greater depth and texture, adding notes of dried fruit, dark chocolate, leather and warming wood spice without losing the smooth balance expected of a high-aged blend.
