Ledaig is the peated single malt produced at Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull. The name comes from the distillery's original identity, founded as Ledaig in 1798, and is now used to distinguish its smoky style from the unpeated Tobermory whisky made at the same site.

Tobermory is owned by Burn Stewart Distillers, part of Distell and now under Heineken-owned control. Production is relatively small by Scotch whisky standards, with the distillery making both bright, fruity Tobermory and more heavily peated Ledaig using the same stills. The core Ledaig range is led by the 10 Year Old and 18 Year Old, alongside limited releases, cask-strength bottlings and independent bottlings.

Ledaig's style is bold, coastal and smoky, with notes of peat fire, sea spray, lemon peel, malt, pepper, medicinal smoke and earthy spice. Sherry-influenced expressions can add darker fruit, chocolate, leather and tobacco, giving the spirit a richer, more brooding character without losing its Hebridean edge.

For peaty whisky drinkers, Ledaig offers something distinct from the more familiar Islay template. It has plenty of smoke, but its Isle of Mull character gives it a rugged mix of fruit, salt, earth and spice that makes the best bottlings feel both powerful and individual.
